The Tow Hitch Extender is a multi-purpose accessory. It extends your hitch out up to 205mm, will drop or raise your hitch height by approx. 55mm.
The Tow Hitch Extender can be used to clear ute trays for towing, alternative to the long tow bar tube to extend any Shingleback bike rack or Moto rack, and can also be used as a Dual Hitch with Shingleback racks.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL: Use your Shingleback rack and tow your trailer at the same time.
BIKES STAY WITH YOU: Unhook your camper trailer at camp and your bikes stay with your vehicle ready for shuttles or day trips.
CLEVER DESIGN: Your Shingleback rack mounts directly to the Dual Hitch for zero wobble and it keeps the rack close to your vehicle for better weight distribution and clearance. Note, it only works with Shingleback racks.
STRONG: This Dual Hitch is ADR compliant and has been tested and rated to tow up to 3500kg/350kg GTW/TW *, and is compatible with most 50mm hitch receivers.
ADJUSTABLE LENGTH: 2 pin holes on the shank allows adjustment of the length when inserted into the receivers.
ANTI-RATTLE DESIGN: The Dual Hitch is double locked into your vehicles hitch receiver for a vice like fit for zero wobble, noise or rattle.
CORROSION RESISTANT: Solid steel construction with a durable black powder coat finish, superior corrosion resistant.
OFFSET HITCH HEIGHT: The Dual Hitch is offset which lowers your vehicle’s hitch approx 50mm. This is a benefit for raised vehicles, or if standard tow ball height is desired simply insert your tow ball tongue upside down and flip your tow ball.
Manufactured in Australia using a solid steel shank and featuring a tough textured black powdercoat finish, you can be assured this product is built to last.
PLEASE NOTE: The Anti Rattle Clamp (ARC) is needed but not included with this product. It is included with every Shingleback Rack or can be purchased separately. If you have a 200/300 series LandCruiser you’ll need the 200/300 series ARC.

Using the Dual Hitch or Tow Hitch Extender means that your tow ball is further away from your vehicle. This increases the stress on your towing system. Shingleback estimates that the Dual Hitch will reduce your Tongue Weight (also knowns as tow ball weight or down-load rating) by approximately 35%.
However, not all vehicles and installations are alike. Always seek expert advice to calculate your vehicle’s towing capacity considering: your vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines; your specific overall loads; and your application.
Additionally, it is important to note that the lowest rated component of your towing system (including the attached bike rack and accessories) defines your load limit.
