Shingleback PRO Vertical Bike Rack Recognised in Australia’s International Good Design Awards for Excellence in Design and Innovation.
On Tuesday 14 October 2025 – The Australian Good Design Awards, one of the world’s longest-running international design award programs, announced this year’s Australian Good Design Award Winners as part of the Official Good Design Awards Week – Rewarding, Defining, and Celebrating Good Design.
This year’s theme, “Design for Better”, underscores the vital role design plays in shaping a more balanced, inclusive, and sustainable world. From reimagining products and services to reshaping cities and systems, the Awards showcase how design has the power to drive positive change for people, planet, and prosperity.
We’re excited to announce that the Shingleback PRO Vertical Bike Rack, has been recognised with a prestigious Australian Good Design Award Winner accolade in the Product Design category.
Jury Comments:
“Shingleback Off Road, Australia’s pioneer of vertical bike transport, sets a new industry benchmark with the Shingleback PRO. Great to see a vertical rack that stands up to the demands of modern bike users. With E bikes becoming the normal, racks need to cater for a huge increase in weight. This is clearly a passionately designed and made product that is truly made with user needs in mind. Big for versatility, durability backed by a big warranty. Big thumbs up for making the rack lighter despite it taking more weight. These racks are still quite heavy, so having the foot release after the speed pin is set helps as it frees up hands to hold the rack and let it down. Safety: with many ebikes and fatbikes on the market, and families with different sized bikes and tyre sizes, versatility is key. They are harder to lower and use when high, so being able to lower or raise the rack height depending on the application i.e. offroad, smaller versus larger bikes etc. is an excellent feature. The Shingleback offers a convenient and practical solution for transporting multiple bicycles. Overall, an inspiring project that raises the bar for good design in this category. Well done.”
Celebrating Good Design, Innovation and Impact
The 2025 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday 17 October, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, where more than 1,000 distinguished guests from design, architecture, engineering, and business sectors will come together to celebrate the transformational power of good design.
At the Ceremony, Winners will receive their official Good Design Tick Trophy.
