Shingleback Setup

Favourite feature of your Shingleback rack?

I love how effortless it is to load and tie down my bikes. There’s no double guessing yourself with whether you’ve tied your bike on tight enough or not. You really trust how secure your bike is on the rack.

When did you first come across Shingleback vertical racks? What were your initial thoughts?

I’ve always seen Shingleback racks at events and thought they were a pretty neat set up. I have been lucky enough to get one this year and it’s dreamy. The leaver system makes it super easy to get into the back of my car and is an efficient system to load any bikes onto.

RIDING LIFE

What’s the most challenging event or trail you’ve ever tackled, and what made it so tough?

Hardline in Maydena was such an unreal experience but it was quite intimidating. I thought it was good opportunity to push myself, with features that were a lot bigger than anything I had ridden in the past. It was a lot to overcome mentally, with lots of nerves.

How did you first get into riding, and what keeps you hooked today?

It was a family affair on the weekends, always great fun.
Then my brother started racing and never enjoyed watching and always wanted to give it a crack myself.
Now love riding, the adrenaline rush and constantly pushing myself to improve.

What does a typical training week look like for you during the season?

I usually gym around 3 x per week, four cardio sessions and when I’m not broken lots of downhill riding.

A perfect day riding looks like...

Any day on the downhill bike with good people to lap with.

Any special pre-comp routines or rituals?

Love listening to some white girl bangers in my warm up, as I need to sing to keep myself calm. Other than that I have a pretty standard warm up.

If you weren’t riding, what would you be doing?

Aha I love sport in general and am quite competitive, so any sport I normally really enjoy.

And finally, what would you tell your younger self starting out?

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and enjoy the riding for what it is, as it’s a pretty unreal sport.
